Wishful Thinking - A Waste Of Time Well Spent (2009)
Исполнитель: Wishful Thinking Альбом: A Waste Of Time Well Spent Год выхода: 2009 Жанр: Acoustic folk Качество: VBR Размер: 57.6M
Debut album of fractured, hauntingly beautiful indie balladry from Seasick Steve's youngest son.
Paul Martin Wold aka Wishful Thinking has been writing his intense, captivating songs for several years now, and he's still only 20 years old. He was born in Hawaii, but spent formative years in Washington, Olympia during the 90s and early 00s heyday of grunge. Bands such as Modest Mouse and Fitz Of Depression passed through his father's studio, and contributed to Paul's musical education.
Paul played with bandmates when he moved to his mother’s native Norway, but soon discovered that just voice and guitar and fragmentary piano sufficed to showcase his gentle yet powerful work. He acknowledges the likes of Nick Drake, Elliott Smith and Bright Eyes as influences.
Master drummer Dan Magnusson augments a couple tracks, while orchestral arranger Fiona Brice (Placebo, Patrick Wolf, Ed Harcourt, The Feeling) has added sparsely evocative strings to others.
